Setting up GoldMine® e-mail Accounts
You can setup GoldMine® to retrieve your e-mail. GoldMine® is
capable of handling 256 e-mail accounts PER USER! This makes GoldMine® an outstanding tool
for managers who need to control and verify e-mail usage within their departments. This
can be particularly helpful to Sales Managers. GoldMine®
can automatically link incoming e-mail with existing Contact Records. GoldMine® will also
maintain a history or outgoing e-mail within the history tab of your Contact Records.
There are several steps involved but don't be overwhelmed!
The steps are easy to follow and add substantial power and value when using GoldMine® on
the Internet. Here is a step-by-step guide for setting up GoldMine® to handle your e-mail.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To use e-mail within GoldMine®
you MUST have access to Internet Standard POP3 and SMTP services. Services such as AOL and
MSN use proprietary mail services and WILL NOT work with GoldMine®. Contact your Internet
Service Provider or System Administrator to make sure these services are available.
1. First you must open the "Preferences" Window.
From the File bar in GoldMine® select EDIT/PREFERENCES. You will see a screen similar to
the example below.
2. Next, click on the tab labeled "Internet".
