Modifying your Q-Form Form in FrontPage
...Page 1

You can make modifications to your Q-Form Form to relect your particular needs. There are certain areas that SHOULD NOT be modified. This includes the hidden fields in the HTML and the Form Field Name. You may, however, add graphics, change label names, and format your form as desired.

We have created an extremely simple form to demonstrate some of the modifications you may wish to make.

Adding a Pull Down Selection: (Drop Down Menu)
The Q-Form Wizard will create all Data Field Inputs as simple single line text boxes (except notes). You can easily replace the text box with a Pull Down, Radio Button, Check Box or other Form Field Item. It is critical to give the new field items the SAME NAME as the text box you are replacing. Here is an example of how to replace the "Source" box with a Pull Down Selection.

First, generate your form using the Q-Form Wizard. Next, select the "Source" field by clicking on the field. Notice the brackets around the box. Then, right click your mouse and select "Form Field Properties"

The "Text Box Properties" will appear. Note that the name of this text box is "Source". This is the name that MUST be used when we create the Pull Down Box.

Select "Cancel" or "OK" and return to the main screen. Be certain you have the Source Text Box selected and delete it. You may use the delete key on your keyboard or right mouse and select "delete".

Now insert the Pull Down Box in place of the Text Box you just deleted. Go to the File Bar, select "Insert", "Form Field, then "Drop Down Menu". The Drop Down Menu will be inserted in your form.

Highlight the Drop Down Menu, right mouse click and select "Form Field Properties". The following screen will appear.

Change the Name to "Source". Now add the items you wish. Once you have finished select "OK". You have successfully created a Pull Down menu. The selection made by visitors to your web site will appear in GoldMine® in the Source field. This is how your form will look in "Normal" mode in the FrontPage editor.

Your final form will have a Pull Down Menu like this:
